A website assistant that answers properly and captures the lead
Most visitors will not fill in a contact form to ask one question. A well-built assistant answers that question from information you have approved, works out whether the visitor is a real prospect, and passes their details to you with the whole conversation attached.
- Answers from your approved content
- Qualifies before handover
- Full transcript emailed
What it handles well
- Do you cover my area, and do you do this kind of work
- Roughly what does something like this cost, and what drives the price
- How quickly can you start and what happens first
- Collecting name, contact details and enough job detail for you to quote
- Pointing visitors to the right service page or article instead of a dead end
What it should not handle
Anything requiring judgement or carrying risk — firm quotes, clinical or legal advice, contractual commitments. In those cases the assistant takes details and tells the visitor a person will come back, which is both safer and more convincing.
How we build it
We write a knowledge base from your actual services, pricing approach, coverage area and process, then constrain the assistant to it. Tone is set to match how you talk to customers. Every conversation that produces a contact detail triggers an email to you with the transcript, so follow-up happens while interest is fresh.
Designed not to get in the way
- Collapsed by default; opens only when the visitor chooses
- Keyboard accessible and usable with a screen reader
- Loaded so it does not delay the page or shift layout
- Sits alongside, not on top of, your phone and WhatsApp buttons
How the work runs
Knowledge
We write and you approve the answers it is allowed to give.
Build
Assistant built into the site with your branding and tone.
Test
Run against real questions your customers ask before launch.
Refine
Monthly review of transcripts to close gaps in the answers.
Common questions
- Isn't a chatbot just an annoying popup?
- The bad ones are. Ours stay collapsed until the visitor opens them, never block content, and are there to shorten the enquiry rather than interrupt it.
- What stops it inventing answers?
- It answers from a written knowledge base about your business. Where it has no approved answer it says so and offers to take details or hand over to you, rather than guessing.
- Can it book appointments?
- It can capture the request, qualify it and confirm details by email. Direct calendar booking is possible where your scheduling system supports it — we scope that separately.
- What happens to the conversations?
- Transcripts and captured details are emailed to you so nothing is lost if the visitor leaves without filling in a form.
