Local SEO

Show up when someone nearby needs what you do

Local searches convert faster than almost anything else online — the person searching has a problem now and is choosing between the first few results. Local SEO is about being in that shortlist: a properly built Google Business Profile, pages that match the way people search locally, and details that agree everywhere.

  • Map pack visibility
  • Consistent business details
  • Review strategy that follows the rules

The three things local ranking depends on

  • Relevance — does your profile and website clearly match what was searched
  • Distance — how close you are to the searcher, which you cannot fake
  • Prominence — reviews, mentions and the authority of your website

Google Business Profile work

The profile is often a bigger lever than the website for local searches, and most are half-filled. We work through the primary and secondary categories, the services list, the description, service areas, hours, photos and the Q&A, and set up a routine for requesting and replying to genuine reviews. Google's guidelines are not negotiable here — no keyword-stuffed business name, no fake reviews, no invented addresses.

Website work that supports the listing

  • Service pages that match the services listed on your profile
  • Location pages with real, specific content for the areas you serve
  • Business name, phone number and email identical everywhere they appear
  • Click-to-call and WhatsApp paths on mobile, where local searches happen
  • LocalBusiness structured data where the real-world details support it
  • Fast mobile pages — a slow site loses the click you just earned

What we will not do

No fake office addresses, no dozens of thin town pages with the place name swapped, no invented reviews or star ratings in schema. Those tactics get listings suspended and pages filtered, and recovering is far more expensive than doing it properly.

Common questions

What is local SEO?
Local SEO is the work that gets a business shown for searches with local intent — 'emergency plumber near me', 'dentist Guildford'. It covers your Google Business Profile, the map pack, location and service pages on your site, and consistent business details across the web.
Can you rank us in areas we travel to but aren't based in?
Partly. The map pack is heavily weighted to proximity, so a listing rarely shows far from its registered location. Well-written service-area pages can rank in ordinary organic results for those towns, and that is the honest route.
Do you need access to our Google Business Profile?
We can't manage it for you from here, but we optimise the website to support it and give you a step-by-step checklist for the profile itself — categories, services, description, photos and reviews.
Why isn't my business showing on Google Maps?
Usually one of: the profile is unverified, the category is wrong, the business details differ between your site and the listing, there are too few reviews compared with competitors, or the listing is suspended. We work through them in order.
