Web Design

Web design that reads clearly and asks for the enquiry

Most business websites lose people in the first ten seconds: it is not obvious what the company does, who it serves, or what to do next. We design pages that answer those three things immediately, then guide the visitor to a call, a form or a WhatsApp message.

  • Mobile-first
  • Designed before built
  • Accessible contrast and type

The problem we're usually asked to fix

Businesses come to us with a site that looks acceptable but does nothing. The homepage opens with a slogan instead of a service, the phone number is buried, the contact form asks for too much, and the whole thing was designed on a desktop for visitors who are almost all on phones.

What the design work covers

  • Discovery: your services, your service area, who buys and what they ask before buying
  • Site structure — the pages you need and how they link together
  • Full visual design of every page type, at mobile and desktop width
  • Typography, colour and contrast checked against WCAG AA for readability
  • Enquiry paths: where calls, forms and WhatsApp buttons sit on each page type
  • A design file your developer or ours can build directly from

Design decisions we make on purpose

A design should make a small number of things very easy. We keep one clear action per screen, keep forms short enough to complete on a phone one-handed, put proof near the ask, and avoid animation that delays the first paint or gets in the way of reading.

Built, not just drawn

Design that never survives development is wasted. If we build the site too, the design is written into a component system so every new page stays consistent. If another team builds it, you get the spacing, type scale and component states documented.

How the work runs

01

Discovery

A call and a short brief: services, areas, competitors, the enquiries you want more of.

02

Structure

Page map and wireframes so we agree on content order before visuals.

03

Design

Homepage concept first, then the remaining page types once you sign off.

04

Handover or build

We build it, or hand a documented design system to your developers.

Common questions

Do you design from a template or from scratch?
From scratch. We start with your services, your customers and the enquiries you want, then design screens around that. Nothing is bought in and re-skinned.
How long does a design phase take?
For a typical small-business site, design usually runs two to three weeks: discovery, a homepage concept, then the remaining page types once the direction is signed off.
Can I see the design before the site is built?
Yes. You review and comment on the designs before any development begins, so changes happen while they are still cheap to make.
Will the design work on phones?
Mobile is designed first. Most local-service traffic arrives on a phone, so layouts, tap targets and calls to action are decided at mobile width before desktop.
